Kolker' commentary acts as a perfect companion to the film itself. Kolker not only knows every detail of the production, he also has superb views on Taxi Drivers place in film history, how it affected the films that came after it and how it's legacy still stands. I cannot say enough about this commentary. Some may find it a bit too serious, but given the serious subject matter it all seems appropriate.
An excellent track. Well worth listening to if you are a fan of the film.
A fascinating commentary track. Given that Taxi Driver is based on a lot of Schrader' own experiences, this track is extremely insightful. Schrader covers a lot of topics, including how he got the script noticed and sold, how he enjoyed working with Scorsese and how the reaction to the film, both negative and positive affected his life.
A great commentary that I could return to many times.
